Welcome to the Design and Technology Faculty.

We prepare our students for a world of rapidly changing technologies by developing their understanding of how these technologies can be used to improve the quality of life. Design and technology is delivered through the mainly discrete areas of:

Food Textiles
Resistant Materials
Graphics

Our students learn to think creatively to develop ideas and skills for making products and systems; by doing so, they learn to solve problems individually and as members of a team. All of our students become informed users of the products they develop; they become innovators, combining an analysis of needs and opportunities together with a clear understanding of the associated social and environmental issues.

All students regardless of gender, ablity, ethnic origin and cultural/social backgrounds have the opportunity to develop their skills using a range of materials. Effective classroom management ensures equal access to equipment. .
