Trees for Learning

Trees for Learning

A group of our pupils visited St Mary’s Park on Friday 18th October to take part in the Trees for Learning project which is backed by DEFRA and delivered by City of Trees Manchester.

Pupils learnt about the importance of trees in sustaining a positive eco-structure and how to plant a tree.  All pupils had the chance to plant a tree in order to make their own contribution to the project.  Some of the pupils who took part are members of our Eco Council, others will use this as part of their childcare qualification.   We were joined by our Chair of Governors, Eammon O’Brien and volunteers from the Friends of St Mary’s Park who are also supporting the project.  The weather was kind to us though we got a brief taste of our typical Manchester weather…it’s good for the trees though!  Find out more by visiting https://www.cityoftrees.org.uk/project/trees-learning
